Gillian MacDonald – A Nomadic Land Gill

When I was 21 years old, I left Canada and moved 6,300 km North-West to Copenhagen, Denmark. Three years later, I find myself back in Scandinavia, studying Applied Cultural Analysis at University of Copenhagen and floating around the Nordic Countries.

This blog is starting as I embark on a journey that will hopefully culminate in a super interesting thesis and my successful graduation. I want to share a little bit of this journey with anyone who may find themselves interested.

Over the next six months, I’ll be trying to trace the story of New Nordic Food, exploring the concept through conversations, stories, places and events focussed on food around the region.

This blog might extend into other issues and events that concern me – it’s essentially a place to share and reflect on my thoughts, ideas and experiences, in the hopes of receiving some thoughtful feedback in return.

This is phase one: the story of a Nordic Nomad.
